Numbers Inspired

I love being inspired, I think most people generally do love to be inspired by something whether its from a movie, a quote, a sermon, an outfit, a food....etc Inspiration comes from a lot of different places. When it comes to interior decorating Im constantly looking for ways to be inspired.
So the inspiration for my D.I.M project this week came from a Clock, more specifically the numbers on it. I got this clock weeks ago on clearance at Marshalls because its broken. I just loved the look and also what it says.

It says, "Time May be Free but It is Priceless."  So True

I'm slowly re-decorating our dining room and thought that this clock would go perfect in it and since I have been staring at this clock everyday I thought I'm going to make pillows with numbers that match the numbers on the clock. Luckily I didn't have to invest too much into these pillows because my husband was getting rid of some old shirts and I happen to have 2 pillows I bought a year ago and didn't like. So I used one of his black polos to cut out the numbers. I did have to buy some fabric to cover the pillows and fabric glue. But for 2 new pillows it cost me less than $10!

BEFORE
I don't know what I was thinking when I bought these pillows!

Now I didn't just pick any numbers, these numbers represent my wedding anniversary, November 15, best day of my Life!

AFTER

Have a wonderful week and I pray your are inspired even by the little things!!

Cold Days Need Warm Dishes!

Seeing as the weather has been freezing here in Texas, I was really craving something to warm me up! I have been wanting a nice bowl of chili... unfortunately I didn't have all the ingredients to make it
But I did have some ingredients to try a NEW recipe...

Yes my new recipe for this week was a MEXICAN BEAN PIE. Now for those of you who are not meat lovers this is perfect. All you need is:

1 package of Corn Muffin Mix
1 Can of drained kidney beans
1 Can of drained Pinto beans
1 small can of diced chilies
1/2 cup of chopped white onion
2 cloves of  minced garlic
1/2 of a chopped jalapeno
chopped red bell pepper
Shredded cheese
cilantro
1 tsp Chili powder
1/2 tsp Cumin
1/4 cup veg juice or veg broth

In a pan of hot oil sautee the onions, garlic, bell pepper, and jalapeno, then add the beans, chilies, cumin, chili powder, veg broth. Kind of mush the beans a little. Then in a bowl prepare the corn mix like it says and add shredded cheese and cilantro to the mix(add however much you like) Once the beans are cooked hot pour them in a greased baking pan top it with the un-cooked muffin mix  and bake at 400 for 20-25 min. Top with sour cream and your favorite salsa!

Now I absolutely loved this, and this is all I made for dinner...which honestly it was filling but you could even make it as a side dish along with enchiladas, tacos, fajitas... Whatever you Like

ENJOY!!!
